Responsible for continuing the daily course operations in the absence of the Director or Assistant Superintendent. Typically work between 45-55 hours per week during the summer season (April-October). Other duties include:

· Train personnel in correct and safe methods and procedures necessary to accomplish their work.
Winter Season: Duties are variable based on the needs of the company or other departments; however, most of the workload is spent on preparing for the upcoming season. Typically work 40 hours per week during the winter season (November-March). Other duties include:
· Snow removal (sidewalks and parking lots) at Talisker Club Park, golf shop, sales gallery, and maintenance facility.
· Maintain and surface the Club’s outdoor ice rink.

Construction and Grow-In Experience: This Assistant Superintendent position will be focused on the Construction and Grow-in project for the par 3 Short Course. This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in gaining construction experience. The project is currently under construction and will begin again in the spring of 2023 and is scheduled to be completed fall of 2023 with every major feature of the golf course being constructed. The Assistant Superintendent will gain experience by not only working on the construction project with Beau Welling Design and Talisker Club but will also learn project management while working with outside contractors. Irrigation installation of HDPE mainline and laterals and Toro satellites and irrigation heads including station wiring and sequencing.

Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Under the general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, the Equipment Manager oversees and participates in all maintenance and repair of golf course equipment, construction equipment, and automobiles.
Primary responsibilities:
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including, diesel, electric and gasoline powered automobiles, mowers, and small engine equipment.
• Oversee and participate in reel grinding and sharpening on golf course mowers
• Instruct and/or train golf course maintenance worker regarding preventive maintenance, and the proper cleaning of and safe operation of equipment. Help create S.O.P regarding equipment
• Prioritize equipment repair and maintenance work
• Establishes and maintains safety procedures for using equipment.

Job Description: The Irrigation Specialist, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and assistant superintendent, is responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system and its properties. The irrigation specialist will offer expertise and aid in maintenance of landscape irrigation systems where needed.
Essential Qualifications: Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system; basic understanding of agronomy and turf grass science; understanding of the game of golf and preparation techniques for play; ability to operate light and medium duty equipment; record keeping and basic computer skills; supervisory skills; 3 years golf course maintenance and irrigation experience; valid driver’s license.
Physical and Mental Requirements: Physical activity is moderate to demanding and will require bending, kneeling, and lifting. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds. Must be able to use hand and power tools, such as a shovel or a chainsaw. Must be able to walk around golf course, hand dig holes or trenches with a shovel, and sit on and operate golf carts, utility vehicles, tractors, and mowers. Mental activity includes intermediate math skills for calculating data figures important to golf course and irrigation systems maintenance. Must be able to retain information important to maintenance programs; read, write, and verbally communicate with employees, management, members, and public. This position requires a high level of concentration because of the danger of equipment used for testing electricity and pressurized systems.
Responsibilities
Assist Golf Course Superintendent and assistant superintendents in the programming, operation, and maintenance of the central irrigation computer system and subsequent satellites.
Conduct morning evaluation of golf course irrigation, including pump station checks to determine previous irrigation cycle success and maintain daily water usage records.
Evaluate proper operation of all pump stations and communicates with Golf Course Superintendent as to required work and preventative maintenance.
Maintain and repair the installed golf course irrigation system, including heads, pipe, valves, wire, etc.
Supervise and participate in additional irrigation installations and drainage projects.
Conduct winterization and start-up of irrigation system and pump stations.
Supervise and direct a changing labor force when needed (i.e. hand watering, installations, etc).
Communicate with assistant superintendents to schedule manpower and resources with regards to irrigation needs.
Keep inventory of all irrigation parts, fittings, and accessories.
Operate specialized equipment, such as trencher, skid steer, and backhoe.
Report any irregularities in course turf quality to Golf Course Superintendent or assistant superintendents.
Participate in snow removal activities including scheduling, procedures, cleanup, preparation, and implementation.
Perform other duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
